How to borrow?

Are we a good fit?

If you are a registered charity with a Christian purpose, here are some things to consider:

Our lending criteria:
  • Does your organisation have an established governance structure?
  • Are you up to date with your financial accounts and relevant filing obligations and registrations?
  • Can you demonstrate that you can comfortably afford the proposed debt?
  • Can you submit properly prepared financial accounts for the last three years?
  • Does your operational cash flow cover the projected servicing costs by 20% (DSCR of 1.2)
  • All lending must be secured by property which can be mortgaged.
  • The maximum loan-to-value ratios are 80% for residential property and 60% for all other debt.
What you can borrow for:
  • To purchase a church building
  • Housing for pastors
  • Social housing
  • Investment properties (rentals)
  • Community facilities (e.g. soup kitchen)
  • Capital expenditure
We do not lend for:
  • Cash flow or operational purposes in any instance where there is no security
  • Any start-up ventures that have no established income streams
